Going on an ABC hunt

After seeing this post, I thought…

We could do that.

So in downtown Frederick, we did.

As our family day off, my hubby Chris and Eden and I went to Carroll Creek and took some pictures of letters. We even sang, “Going on a Letter Hunt” to the tune of “Going on a Bear Hunt.”

We stopped at the library (where there were LOTS of letters)

and at Five Guys for lunch (not so many letters, but lots of French fries!) before hopping in the car and coming home.

After a nap, Eden and Daddy created this using photoshop:

So cool. And our local Costco will be printing a 20x30 copy of it for just $9 to hang on the wall in our new house. What a wonderful way to learn, re-learn, and creatively experience the alphabet.

Block Exchange

I am hosting a By the Month Block Swap on Pins and Needles. You commit to making 12 themed blocks for the month you choose. So if you wanted the month of April, you might make an umbrella with raindrops (April showers…) if you had July you might do fireworks, or a flag. Etc.

Dreams…

I am dreaming dreams for our new house.

(Because we are moving.)

Dreams of place space for Eden where she will become a princess and conquer her fears.

(Perhaps even learn to read and write.)

Where there is place for my husband to stretch his active side.

(Maybe it will not include a chin-up bar over our bedroom door)

And a place for me to create.

(Because THIS is not okay. )

How can you create, find freedom, find wholeness in this?

It is hard.

I have visions of a large table, of a cabinet full of fabrics, quilts hung on the walls…

Of space to scrapbook, quilt, create.

Dreams my friends…dreams.

But then again… “Dreams are a wish the heart makes.”

White, Pink and Green Top

Do you ever feel pulled in a million different directions?


I do. And I am not talking about my work world. Or my mommy world. Or my house world.
I am talking about my craft world.

I get inspired and that means I get distracted. Very distracted.

So a couple weeks ago, I posted my white, pink and green fabrics.

And here is what I have so far.

It is not finished. My two year old is going from a toddler bed to a single sized bed at our new house and I wanted this to be one of the quilts for her bed. So I am going to add one row of green, one of pink and one of white around the outside before the binding.

But what do I do for the back?

Thoughts?

A plain sheet? A funky surprise color? Thoughts?
