I just love it. My husband and I went round and round about the border color. He said white. I said black. I won. (shocker.) But he has come around. I just think it makes the colors of the quilt pop so nicely. Right now this is a little small. I haven’t decided what to do about that. It needs to be a bit wider for a good lap quilt. I might have to go to Joanns (oh darn…) to get some rainbow fabric. Maybe a thin border of that would be good. Or maybe a thin white border. I don’t know. Maybe I want to make it much bigger… Maybe I should add 6 more blocks. (At those words my husband sighs. He is done with little strips of fabric all over our dining room table). I am going to have to think on it.
What do you think? How can I make it a bit bigger?
Border? More blocks?

Going Barn Crazy
So I am doing a round robin. For those who don't know, it means that I make a center block and mail it to a woman in the group, who adds a row and sends it to another group member, who adds a row...etc. It is my first, and I am really excited. Here is the center block:
I figured that now that I am a country girl, I should make a country quilt! I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Pruple and Blue All Over
More stripy blocks. They are pruple and blue all over…
I am really liking how this is coming out...now just to figure out what to do with the sashing. AND...what am I going to do with all the scraps I still have?!?

Going Green...well at least in color
Watching the Olympics is a perfect time for me to craft. There is so much commentary stuffed in between the action, I have plenty of time to sew a line, cut, or iron. So, here are my green stripy blocks. I am hoping that I can make some of each color in the rainbow for a beautiful rainbow quilt made of scraps. We will see!

String Blocks
These are the most fun to make. I have set up the sewing machine and the iron so that all I have to do is turn my body and I am set to press these blocks into shape.
These particular ones are to give away, but I am working on making some for myself. Using some of my scraps I think I might make some all green, all blue, all yellow, etc blocks that could be put together to make a rainbow quilt.

Happy Valentine's Day...to ME!
I decided enough is enough. I have been making things for my daughter, my husband, my family, our friends, our church… this Valentine’s Day, I needed to make something for me…
So I did!
What do you think?
So I did!
What do you think?
It is huge! Which is perfect for all the things I lug around!
And I have to share... the view from our front window. Don't you just love the wreath? I picked it up at the church bazaar last fall!
Valentine Snow
As the snow falls outside our window (now well over 3 feet on the ground), my dining room table has a different kind of snow… a valentine snow. Between Eden’s two different classes, friends, family and even an “order” for more (thanks mom!), I have valentines everywhere and am loving it!
These are the valentines for Eden’s classes. Each child will get one fabric fortune cookie filled with 3 Hershey kisses and a fortune…wishing them a happy valentine’s day. I have put them in these little Chinese food container boxes I found at Joann’s on MEGA discount.
I am making a bunch of extra fabric fortunes to fill with goodies for my husband and for Eden, along with some for my mom to give out to her staff. I am SUPER pleased with how they came out and it was a great scrapbuster. Each fabric fortune cookie took about 3 minutes to make – FANTASTIC!

While the snow fell
While this was going on outside...
My Coast to Coast blocks, sent to me from ladies around the country went from this:
to this:
I also mangaged to finish as Noah's Ark quilt kit my mom had asked me to work on, but I am washing it now... so no pictures! And before bed, I am going to cut out a few more projects. I hope!

Coast to Coast Block Party
So I am in this quilting group and my assignment for the month was to make some free form log cabin blocks for Ebony. So I did! And is what came out:
I love the colors she picked and it was fun! Almost mindless becuase she wanted them to not exactly be straight. I think I might make some up out of my stash.

Move over Dunkin’ Doughnuts
Well I might not be able to eat doughnuts (due to my Celiac’s Disease), but I can make them! Out of felt!
What do you think? Are they good enough to eat?
I have a few things to tweak, but I would love to laminate a small dunkin’ doughnuts box to fill for Eden to play with.

Deadlines and Diapers: Leaving on a Jet Plane
I write for the local paper's online edition about once a month. This one is about our flight home from Disney World a couple of weeks ago. Let me know what you think!
