Pirate for Hire

Making a trip to the library a part of our every week routine,
Eden found this book on the shelf!

We had to bring it home.

It is a story of a pirate who is brought before the
Pirate Council because he doesn't look the same.
Or dress the same.
Or have a parrot.

So they kick him out of being a pirate.

Without giving away the whole book,
it is a fantastic tale about being yourself!

Baltimore Sewing and Quilting Expo, pt. 1

Thursday, I ran down to Baltimore to the Sewing and Quilt Expo at the Convention Center.
 And it was awesome.
(Me before I left - SUPER EXCITED!)

Lots of beautiful quilts.

I love this quilt.
I think something like it would be a good church worship banner.

The detailing is fantastic!

And here are the details of this piece.

And here is another amazing one.
Beautiful colors.

Amazing corner details.

And what a wonderful name!

More photos tomorrow!

The Boy Who Cried Ninja

THIS is an awesome book:

My hubby and I packed up the girls and headed to our local library.

Eden was not so thrilled.

She wanted to watch television.
And paint.
And not put her shoes on.

(That was the real thing. She didn't want to put her shoes on.)

But once we got there... it was HEAVEN.

She loves books.

And this was the one that we both loved.

Based on the story of the boy who cried wolf,
this little boy has encounters will all different kids of unexpected guests,
who stir up all kinds of trouble,
and it ends up being a cute tale of telling the truth.

Hanging Out

I haven't had time to sew.

And I want to SO bad!

I have a few major projects I NEED to finish,
but I needed some family time today.

Here is Bethy - determined NOT to take a nap!

And here is my Eden playing with my old dollhouse, made by my father.
